Plus Size Power Up

Hello gorgeous and welcome to the world of Plus Size Power Up! We are all so glad you are here and can’t wait to welcome you into the Power Up Crew.

First and foremost we want to introduce ourselves and tell you a little about why we created Plus Size Power Up, lovingly shortened to PSPU. The adorable babe on the left is Brittany who is a California girl with a huge heart and passion for the plus size community. She is a yoga instructor who specializes in joyful movement and is a professed diet culture dropout and avid fat liberation advocate. On the top right is Sara Jo who has been a long time fat positive, body liberation activist living in Florida. Sara Jo has been a loud voice for women all over the world and is truly a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Lastly, Katelyn is pictured on the bottom right with her adorable pup Monroe. She is a body positive boudoir photographer based in North Carolina and has been creating space for all bodies since 2016. She is also a body activist and uses images to help women see just how worthy they are of all the love in this world.

Now that you know us, let’s take a second and tell you why we created PSPU. The two of us met at a wonderful summer camp in 2019 and upon meeting we both realized that we shared a lot of common goals and wanted to create a safe space in this community for other women like us. After close examination we realized that there was a hole in the market that we needed to fill.

The main goal of PSPU is to create an accessible community for plus size babes grounded in self love, authenticity and education. We want to create a community that is accessible for all women both financially and physically and give women the tools to navigate the world we currently exist in. Some days it feels so lonely and we want all women to know they are not fighting this battle alone.

PSPU is going to be a series of small events and retreats hosted all over the United States, accommodating small groups of women to educate and share the knowledge that we have accumulated through our years of experience.

Our first retreat is going to be held in Atlanta, GA on May 2nd and 3rd. We are opening our doors to a group of women to come and join us for a series of events over two days that include photoshoots, shared meals, joyful movement, self reflection, art and tangible education tools to take home. We want each woman walking away feeling amazing and tapped into a community they may not have known was available. We are here to walk along this path and support each attendee well past the conference.

Between the both of us, we have so much gratitude and love for this community and we want to continue the positive growth we have seen so far. We know the trials of getting to all the amazing events that are currently in place and we want to help fill that gap. We are both looking forward to meeting each of you and hearing all about your unique story.
